Towards an effective transnational regulation of AI

This course explores the challenges that artificial intelligence poses to human legal systems. As AI machines begin to perform cognitive tasks independently and interact directly with the world, traditional human-centred law faces new limits. The course examines why legal control over AI cannot be direct and must instead be mediated through human behaviour. It outlines what the law can realistically achieve in regulating AI, proposes guiding principles for this regulation, and compares three transnational approaches for implementation.
