Cookie Policy

Effective date: 26th May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Opiniões Diligentes – Consultoria Estratégica, Lda (a sociedade por quotas incorporated under Portuguese law), trading as "Lexstream" ("Lexstream", "we", "us", "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at lexstream.io and the Lexstream Academy platform (currently at academy.lexstream.io) (together, the "Services").
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy at lexstream.io/privacy/, which explains how we handle personal data more generally. This Policy is provided in line with the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules as implemented in Portugal (Lei n.º 41/2004).

   1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as pixels, local storage and software development kits (SDKs) — perform comparable functions. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" in this Policy.
Cookies can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by a provider whose service we use). They can also be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain for a set period).

   2. HOW WE ASK FOR YOUR CONSENT

When you first visit the Services, a consent banner lets you accept or reject each category of non-essential cookie. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the Services cannot function without them and they do not require consent. All other categories are set only after you opt in. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time (see Section 6).
Our legal basis for non-essential cookies is your consent; for strictly necessary cookies it is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, working website.

   3. THE CATEGORIES OF COOKIES WE USE

a. Strictly necessary / functional. Required to run the Services — for example, to keep you logged in, remember items during a session, balance server load, maintain security, and record your cookie preferences. These cannot be switched off through our banner.
b. Preferences. Remember choices you make, such as your language (our site supports multiple languages) and display settings, to give you a more personalised experience.
c. Statistics / analytics. Help us understand how visitors use the Services — which pages are viewed, how courses are progressing, and where we can improve — usually on an aggregated or pseudonymised basis.
d. Marketing. Used to measure the effectiveness of our communications and, where applicable, to deliver or measure relevant content. This category also covers cookies set by embedded media (for example, video and podcast players) and by social platforms when you sign in with them.

   4. COOKIES AND THIRD PARTIES ON OUR SERVICES

The providers below may set cookies or process device data when you use the Services. The specific cookies depend on which features and pages you use and the consent you give:
- LearnWorlds — Hosts the Academy; session, authentication and core platform functions — Strictly necessary / functional.
- Cloudflare — Security, bot mitigation and content delivery — Strictly necessary.
- Google (Workspace; Sign-In; analytics where enabled) — Authentication and usage analytics — Functional / Statistics.
- MailerLite — Email marketing measurement — Marketing.
- MailerSend, Mailgun — Transactional email delivery — Functional.
- Synthesia — Embedded AI-avatar video playback — Functional / Marketing.
- Spotify — Embedded podcast playback — Marketing.
- Meta (Facebook), LinkedIn, Apple, X — Social login, where you choose to use it — Functional / Marketing.

   5. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

Some cookies are set by the third parties listed above. We do not control these cookies, and their use is governed by the relevant provider's own privacy and cookie policies. We encourage you to review those policies. Where these cookies are non-essential, they are set only after you consent.

   6. HOW TO MANAGE OR WITHDRAW CONSENT

You can manage cookies in several ways:
- Our consent banner. Reopen it at any time via the "Cookie settings" link (typically in the site footer) to change or withdraw your choices.
- Your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Services from working.
- Opt-outs. Many analytics and advertising providers offer their own opt-out tools.

   7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in the law. The "Effective date" and "Version" above will show the latest revision, and material changes will be brought to your attention through the Services.
