AI Risk Assessment:
A Scenario-Based, Proportional Methodology for the
AI Act
This course examines the EU AI Act’s risk classification system and addresses the lack of a clear methodology for assessing AI risks. It proposes a new approach, inspired by the IPCC framework, to build real-world risk scenarios and balance competing values through a proportionality test. Practical applications include regulatory implementation, risk significance assessment, and internal risk management for AI deployers.
